Rodan's brief stint in this world left an indelible mark on the math-rock/post-hardcore/post-rock scene for years to come. With only 1 proper LP and 1 single as Rodan before breaking up and mutating into Shipping News, June of 44, Rachel's, and others, the members of Rodan used crunching guitars with shifting time signatures and a pervasive feeling of tension to create one of my favorite albums of the 90's in "Rusty."
